FLOWERS FOR MY DAUGHTER
Now that my evenings are free (since youth football season is over) I decided on Monday to pay a visit to my daughter. She is 5 and half months old now and growing everyday. I was excited to present her with the 7 new outfits that I bought the day before from Macy’s. On my way, I still felt that there was a little something missing for the little lady in my life.
I made a detour to the local supermarket’s floral department to find just the right arrangement for her. As I perused the 783 different choices of arrangements, a voice over my shoulder said “If I were her I would like these.” Without turning around, I said “She is a very special lady so it must be right.” As I continued to look, that same voice announces “You can never go wrong with roses.” By now I was little irritated with the invasion of my very special moment. So I turn around to dismiss this person and I am stunned to see one of the most beautiful women I had seen in my life. I literally jumped the way Smokey and Craig did in the movie Friday when they said “DAMN !!!!!!!”
This woman chuckled to her self because she was obviously used to the reaction. Was she trying to pick me up in the grocery store? I explained to her that I was buying flowers for my beautiful baby girl. She thought that was the sweetest thing and it reminded her of her dad that presented her with flowers every Valentine’s Day. I thanked her for her suggestions and headed to meet my daughter.
When I saw her her eyes lit up. I didn’t know if it was because of the brightly colored flowers or the fact that she was happy to see her daddy. I think she was happy to see her daddy.
I took her over to the couch and proceeded to show her all the nice outfits her daddy bought for her. I would get a occassional glance but the majority of her attention was focused on her socks.
As I left I made a pledge to always do what I can to make her feel like the most special little girl in the world.
Because she is.

Thank you. As you know my boys are my world but this little girl and I will always hold this special bond.
